PRAYER I. EPV’S CHAPEL. AUGUST 3rd, 2022

Ready and quiet

I put myself in the presence of God, He is here. His body, His blood, His soul and His divinity are here represented by the eucharist’s Blessed Sacrament. I make an act of faith in Him. Because He is here, He sees me, He listens to me. I put myself under the sight of God that loves me and I’m aware to His presence and I´m aware of what He wants to tell me in this moment of prayer. I invoke the Holy Spirit and I ask for the virgin Mary’s intercession.

I make mine today’s intention

So that there will never be a lack of generous young people who take the path of the priesthood following the example of the Good Shepherd, who did not come to be served, but to serve and give his life for everyone, including me.

Psalm 22

Lord, you are my sheperd.

Lord, you are my shepherd;

there is nothing I shall want.

Fresh and green are the pastures

where you give me repose.

Near restful waters you lead me,

to revive my drooping spirit.

You guide me along the right path;

you are true to your name.

If I should walk in the valley of darkness

no evil would I fear.

You are there with your crook and your staff;

with these you give me comfort.

You have prepared a banquet for me

in the sight of my foes.

My head you have anointed with oil;

my cup is overflowing.

Surely goodness and kindness shall follow me

all the days of my life.

In the Lord’s own house shall I dwell

for ever and ever.

 I take the Word of God that He says to me

As he passed by the Sea of Galilee, he saw Simon and his brother Andrew casting their nets into the sea; they were fishermen. Jesus said to them, «Come after me, and I will make you fishers of men.» Then they abandoned their nets and followed him. He walked along a little farther and saw James, the son of Zebedee, and his brother John. They too were in a boat mending their nets. Then he called them. So they left their father Zebedee in the boat along with the hired men and followed him (Mark 1, 16-20).

Or:

He went up the mountain and summoned those whom he wanted and they came to him. He appointed twelve (whom he also named apostles) that they might be with him and he might send them forth to preach. (Mark 3, 13-14).

I remain in silent meditation

I say my Prayer of Intercession

R/. Lord, give us holy priests.

  • — To obtain forgiveness of sins. R/.
  • —  So that we always could have the Holy Eucharist. R/.
  • — So that they preach to Christ, and they preach to Christ crucified. R/.
  • — For them to bear witness to the Truth. R/.
  • — For children to preserve Grace. R/.
  • — For young people to know and follow Christ. R/.
  • — For the old people to conform their lives according to the Law of God. R/.
  • — So that we have Christian homes. R/.
  • — So that union and Christian charity are lived in our towns. R/.
  • — For the sick to receive spiritual aid. R/.
  • — So that they will be with us at the hour of our death, and so that they will offer the Holy Mass for us. R/.

Holy Mary, Mother of the Church, Queen of the Apostles, obtain for us from the Lord many and holy priests. Amen.

As you taught to me, I dare to say

Our Father.

I finish with this prayer

O God, you who wanted to give shepherds to your people, spill on your Church the spirit of piety and strength, may it raise up many and holy priests, worthy ministers of your altar, and make them brave and humble witnesses of your Gospel. Amen.

Or:

Jesus Christ, you are my friend and my lord. I know you love me. What are you calling me to do?
